Baader Brains had broken up the night before as an FBI raid had seriously compromised the integrity of the group. The remaining members not on the lam pulled it together and played in Santa Cruz as the Young Tigers. It was an interesting show for sure, as most people there were trying to bring about the vegan revolution (a soul veg on every corner? now?), which apparently consists of under-dressing for cold weather, bad hair cuts and no shoes. I mean, if you're gonna go all survivalist on me, at least have the common sense to wear shoes in a mosh pit. and i did overhear one of them talk about "going back to the car" to get something. if you've got wheels, you've got shoes. kinda blew my image of them emerging from the woods for the show. regardless of my disdain for suburb kids going primitive, i find something fiercely attractive about them, and i'm talking sexually, not ideologically. anyways, the show was awesome even though there were some technical difficulties that took awhile to sort out (i overheard the singer of seven generations ask the guy who put on the show, "are they gonna play, or are they just gonna set up?") Throwing in a picture of John Zerzan amongst images of urban revolutionaries and the such probably blew some of those primies minds. Come to think of it, I did hear some barking and squawking around that time...

oh man... Primitivists rule. haha

Upon my first encounter with Baader Brains, I approached a known Young Tiger cadre member and inquired about the lyrical reference to John Zerzan. Apparently, the reference was of some struggle within the group. I was advised it was less of an endorsement and more of a humorous pondering.

Prior to Baader Brains playing Gilman on Sunday, I approached a different Young Tiger agent. Contact was made such that this blog is a known fellow traveller and welcomes revolutionary greetings from the underground.
Hopefully, we will receive word in the near future.

In a small effort to clear up some misinformation, it was not the FBI, but rather our enemies at DARPA who initiated the current Troubles. However, thanks to our training at a certain notorious Hollywood nail salon, we were able to construct highly sophisticated disguises allowing us to move freely under the ever-watchful eyes the authorities. Unfortunately at least one DARPA agent (recognizing our Auroville SDF fatigues) managed to infiltrate the Young Tigerz show and disable the microphone of the singer. Lyric sheets and other band information were culled as top secret, as they could’ve further compromised the situation.

Luv,
Kyle

When I got the lp, I literally sat down with the liner notes and cracked a grin at all the political nods I got or furiously looked up the ones I didn't get on the internet
