Gaza!

Today is an international day of solidarity with Palestine against Zionist brutality and campaign of genocide!

The death toll in Gaza has exceeded 800 people. Well over 3,000 have been injured.

"The civilian population has no way to hide. The population density is so high you can not do attacks like this without knowing that you are attacking the civilians.
"Also, the injuries must come from extremely explosive devices. We suspect that Israel is using a new type of high explosive called Dime [dense inert metal explosive].
"We urge the world, stop the bombing of Gaza. Please stop it."

"The numbers of death and injured reported in the media are far below reality as the media is not able to cover incidents as they unfold. I know of cases where homes were surrounded by the Israeli army and people inside gave themselves up and were shot anyway when they exited.
We have witnessed weapons we have never seen before in our lives. Some explode in the sky and scatter bombs all over. Sporadically. I have smelt smells from some of the burns and wounds that I have never before witnessed.
What is taking place is a massacre, more than a massacre."

_____

The US House of Representatives has voted to endorse a resolution backing Israel in its offensive in Gaza.

Contact your representative and condemn this endorsement of genocide and recklessness.
_____

The UN called for a ceasefire.
The USA, of course, abstained. Israel, of course, ignored it and continued to attack civilians and UN aid.
Israel now intends to escalate the attack on Gaza.
(Remember the lead up to the US invasion of Iraq? Remember how adamant the US was that Iraq respect the UN or face consequences? Hhmmm)

An odd sidenote:
Brian Eno is a great musician. Read what he thinks about Israel.

Post this and spread the word if you haven't already:

Last month San Francisco saw a confrontational solidarity action against the police murder of a young man on the other side of the world, yet there has been nothing against the police murder of a young man on the other side of the bay.

There will be a demonstration against the police murder of Oscar Grant on Monday, January 12 at 5pm at the Civic Center BART station.
