India: A New Front?

What is an excellent strategy for winning a guerrilla war? How about opening up a new front and thus thinning out the enemy's resources/troops?!

The recent attacks in Mumbai, India have been described as a “pre-emptive strike” against Barack Obama’s strategy to put Pakistan and Afghanistan at the centre of US foreign policy.

It will be very difficult for the USA to lend support to India's fight against these Islamic forces while maintaining a needed alliance with Pakistan to fight them in Afghanistan.

_____

Nepal also has an interesting take on what the Mumbai attacks will bring to the region: competition between China, Russia, and USA for influence.
