Just last week, some knuckleheads yelled nationalist and racist remarks at an anarchist band playing 924 Gilman.
It was supposed to be a joke and according to one involved "the American way."
When addressing the issue, most advised that such remarks should be ignored or simply not addressed.

As if addressing such "humor" gave the remarks legitimacy.
I realize the kids were just heckling and heckling has a long history in punk/HC.
It is usually supposed to be semi-offensive and arouse a response.
However, racism and nationalism are dangerous ideas.
Dealing with them doesn't give them power. Ignoring them does!
